Safeguarding Statement

At Surge Padel, the safety, welfare and wellbeing of everyone who participates in our club is extremely important to us.

We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where children, young people and adults can enjoy padel, develop their skills and take part in club activities free from abuse, neglect, bullying, discrimination or inappropriate behaviour.

 

Our commitment to safeguarding

​

We are committed to following the safeguarding principles, standards and guidance of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and to maintaining appropriate safeguarding arrangements for our club and its activities.

​

Our safeguarding approach includes:

  • Putting the welfare and wellbeing of children and young people first.

  • Providing a safe, positive and inclusive environment for everyone involved in the club.

  • Following relevant LTA safeguarding policies, standards and guidance.

  • Ensuring coaches, staff and volunteers understand their safeguarding responsibilities and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

  • Following appropriate safer recruitment and safeguarding procedures when appointing coaches, staff and volunteers.

  • Ensuring relevant individuals have appropriate safeguarding training and checks where required.

  • Taking concerns about abuse, neglect, bullying, discrimination or inappropriate behaviour seriously and responding to them appropriately.

  • Providing clear and accessible ways for members, parents, carers, coaches, volunteers and visitors to raise safeguarding concerns.

  • Working with the LTA and relevant statutory or safeguarding organisations where appropriate.

  • Regularly reviewing our safeguarding arrangements and making improvements where necessary.

 

Raising a safeguarding concern

If you have a concern about the welfare or safety of a child, young person or adult at Surge Padel please contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL):

You can raise a concern whether you are a member, parent, carer, coach, volunteer, visitor or any other person involved with the club.

​

You do not need to be certain that abuse or harm has occurred before raising a concern. If something does not feel right, please report it.

​

Where appropriate, concerns will be dealt with in accordance with our safeguarding procedures and relevant LTA safeguarding requirements.

​

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, call 999.

 

Our responsibility to participants

​

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. We expect everyone involved with Surge Padel to contribute to creating a respectful, safe and inclusive environment. We will not tolerate abuse, harassment, bullying, discrimination or other behaviour that places the welfare of participants at risk.

​

Our safeguarding arrangements are reviewed regularly to ensure they remain appropriate for our club and are aligned with current LTA guidance and applicable safeguarding requirements.

Surge Padel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of everyone involved in our club and to maintaining standards that support safe and enjoyable participation in padel.
